Want to Learn the Essential Ingredients for Developing an Outstanding Support Model for Bilingual & Multilingual Learners in your School?
Do you work with a large number of bilingual and multilingual learners (ESL, ELLs) in your school? If so, then this 20 minute video is an ideal resource to help you understand how to positively impact and support the progress of the BMLs within your school.
In most schools and school districts, ESL teachers serve BMLs with the lowest-levels of English proficiency or those who may be struggling, but what about the rest of the students? How can they get the support they need even if they cannot access ESL services?
This tutorial shows you how supporting your BMLs through a focus on whole-school initiatives and educational programs can actually keep them afloat and moving forward. Teacher expertise is the core of this approach but there are other key elements which provide a strong foundation for students’ growth and development.
This training is conducted by Alison Schofield and Francesca McGeary, our consultants, authors and experts from the Centre for Educators of BMLs. The aim of the Institute is to support schools and teachers around the world to:
-
Better understand BMLs and how to maximise their strengths within the educational environment
-
Learn relevant research and strategies that make a huge impact in the achievement of BMLs
-
Understand the key approaches and techniques that enable BMLs to thrive (academically, socially, emotionally, culturally)
-
Create culturally-rich and culturally-responsive learning environments that maximise student success
